From 10 May to 6 June, 48 sixth and seventh grade students from our schools Bureche School, Vermont School, New Cambridge School and Arboleda School are living a unique experience thanks to Cognita – Redcol’s Global Experiences programme: an academic and cultural immersion in Canada that transforms their way of seeing the world. This programme, which has been running for more than 10 years, has enabled hundreds of students to have meaningful international experiences in real learning environments.
Even before boarding the plane, the experience had already begun: children from different regions of the country met for the first time to embark together on their first international adventure without their families. This initial meeting marked the beginning of an intercultural experience, where sharing with peers from other contexts became the first step in opening their eyes to the world.
Learning that crosses borders
During their stay, the students participated in academic activities at various Canadian schools, including Assumption Catholic School, St. Anthony Catholic School , St. Teresa of Calcutta and Canadian Martyrs Catholic School, among others. Living in international educational environments has allowed them to improve their English, discover other ways of learning and strengthen their autonomy.
In addition to the academic environment, they have enjoyed dance classes, outdoor walks, integration activities and unforgettable excursions. They visited iconic landmarks such as the Toronto Aquarium, the awe-inspiring CN Tower and the majestic Niagara Falls, discovering not only new cultures, but also new versions of themselves.
A network that connects hearts and visions
Global Experiences is not just an exchange programme. It is a door to the world, a space where our students become global citizens, able to understand other realities, establish friendships with people from different cultures and grow with a more open and empathetic outlook.
At Cognita – Redcol, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom, and this experience proves it. Thanks to this programme, our children are writing stories they will remember for a lifetime.
